H3 Studio

A part of the app for making short videos with MiniMax H3 out of characters and stories. Open it from H3 Studio in the sidebar, or from Settings → Features.

Start from an example

Two example projects come with the app: Neon Tokyo Heist, a fifteen-second action scene, and Faux Mario, a comedy shot like a homemade parody. Press Enable on one and the app checks that the two workflows it needs are installed, the same check the Workflows page runs. Then press Run: it makes the character pictures, writes the prompt and renders the video, and every step is an ordinary job on the Jobs page.

Changed an example and want it back? Put back as shipped on its page restores it.

Characters

A character has a description, a voice and a picture. The voice builder under the voice prompt offers words for pitch, texture, pace and the rest, and shows how far apart two characters sound, so each one's voice stays its own.

Each character also has assets: a face close-up, a full-body picture and any number of named looks, such as "in gear" or "in a dress". A look can be drawn from the face close-up, so the face stays theirs while the outfit changes. A picture you pick from your library is copied into the character's own folder.

Stories, scenes and storylines

  • A story casts its characters as Subject 1, Subject 2 and so on, and is made of scenes.
  • A scene has its own prompt, a length in seconds, an optional line of dialogue, and an optional reference picture: a character, one of their looks, or a picture made for the scene.
  • A storyline puts stories in order, with a visual style, an ambient soundscape and a score.

The project sets the frame (wide 16:9, tall 9:16 or square) and whether a storyline renders as one video or a clip per story, joined end to end. A new project, story or scene starts filled in enough to render, with three-second scenes, so you can run it before you have changed much.

Prompt templates

How a storyline is written out for the model is a template, on the Templates page. Three come built in, including a second-by-second timeline in the style of H3's own examples. You can edit them or write your own with keywords like [stories] and [scenes], and preview the result on one of your storylines.

Remix and takes

Every story and storyline has a Remix button. Each render there is a take with a new seed. Render a quick Draft until a take looks right, press Lock this seed, then Make final to upscale and refine that same take. A locked seed is the one the whole project's run uses, so the video you liked is the video you get.

What it needs

  • A ComfyUI that can run MiniMax H3, with the nodes and models the bundled APP Minimax H3 Reference workflow names, and APP Krea2 for the pictures. Enable lists anything missing.
  • Prompts are read by the app's built-in safeguard before they are shown or run, like every run (see Privacy and security).
